Trials of Eyeliner

Comes across all shy and coy, just another nancy boy

A designer friend of mine was lamenting to me about his difficulties in managing all of the events he would like to participate in while still releasing regular items for his store. Some events you have to register for months and months in advance and then create unique items. So I thought I’d help him out a bit and pull together the various blogs and event listings out there that I was aware of for him. Three hours later and still scrolling through listings….

And oh dear god there are so many events. I’ve talked about this before but in the last several months while I was away, it seems like the amount of regular events has quadrupled. I know they probably haven’t, but it just seems like every time I turn around in my daily adventure to try to catch up with everything I missed, I find that there are 3 or 4 overlapping events all occurring RIGHT NOW… and 10 more start tomorrow.

Second Life has the potential to never be bored and yet somehow half the time we find ourselves in our homes, private sims, platforms and skyboxes  typing in random search terms and never finding what we haven’t really narrowed down that we’re even looking for at the moment. Overwhelmed by options, its easy to get stuck in a rut. There’s a line between habit and rut that I bang my head against fairly regularly. While I’m highly comfortable in my routines, there’s also a large part of me that wants to constantly explore new places and meet new people and yes get to events.

Yes, the irony of me being a complete and utter hermit and creature of habit has not completely eluded me. Thanks.

Anyway- thanks to Zaaf, I got a hold of this suit for a mere $50L via one of the dozens of hunts going on (at any point!) right now. This one was from No Salvation where you had to find tons of little chests which had the items inside. What I love the most about this particular hunt was that the chests with men’s items inside had ‘Mens’ written right on it! Flawless victory.

There’s always so much going on in SL, its great to have friends that will share their finds with you. Especially when they hasten to note that, by sending me a direct link to the item in question, he was saving me the wander through the milking room of the dungeon on the hunt to find it.

That’s true friendship right there.

It’s only fair. I’ve been doing it for 30 years, so I’m an expert now.
