Trials of Eyeliner

Comes across all shy and coy, just another nancy boy

Since I’ve opened the sim to the public, I’ve been asked repeatedly which part of the sim is my favorite. As contrived as it is, my immediate gut reaction is, “It depends.” But its true. And if you catch me on a good day, I may have a straight answer. I do, however, find myself sitting inside the northwest corner a great deal. And that’s where I find myself today, changing clothes and snapping pictures.

After re-finding yesterday’s coat in my closet, I decided to root around and look for other items I’ve bought and lost in the black hole that can be my inventory. With the exception of the new boots by Razor, everything else came out of my inventory’s Received Items folder. I need to start a “Need to Shoot” folder or.. something like that. But then I’d just forget to put them in there, too. Harumph! Its a good thing my mild-and-infrequent-OCD doesn’t cover inventory organization. I’d be doomed when that kicked in.

So yes! New boots by Razor. Released earlier this month, the Johnny Rotten mesh boots box has several options included; 5 Sizes (XS, S, M, L and XL) and two versions: Rigged and Unrigged. Addtionally, it comes with an unrigged foot only for use with pants where the top of the boot would stick out. Naturally, 2 alpha layers come with it as well. The HUD gives you two options for the material of the body, laces, straps and toe- clean or dirty. Addtionally, you can customize the side pocket on the boot with one of 7 designs. I really like designers that provide the option for rigged or unrigged both. As a photographer, sometimes I need to move the shoe for one reason or another. You know how animations can sometimes not work juuust the way you want them to. Its great too because the non-rigged are sizeable by hand- so if you have a shape that doesn’t work with the standard 5 for these boots, you can wear the non-rigged and make them fit just right. You lose the ability for them to move with your positions like rigged mesh, but its a give and take- and Razor gives you the fullest options possible. Bravo.

The jeans are a favorite old pair of mine from SiniStyle that I think, had they not come pre-ripped, would be in shreds by now for how often I used to constantly wear them. The ripped and shredded threads look great against bare skin. And who can say no to a nice pair of low-rise jeans? I know for a lot of people, mesh jeans is WHERE ITS AT but I still like a well made pair of system-layer jeans. Or anything for that matter. Mesh is great, but there’s still a lot of value in well created non-mesh clothing.

Don’t forget your roots, man!

I am not sure if I saw the ENTIRE sim given that every time I found myself at the house I turned and ran away like a scolded cat (ok I walked away gracefully given I was wearing my period AO but you get the picture) besides a sense of direction has always been my downfall in SL.

Now on to your outfit. I think my fave item you are wearing has to be the belt. I just love it though I am quite taken with the shirt as well and the entire thing suits very well to the surroundings used for the photo. Very nice Nigel.

  2. I can certainly understand having a different favorite every day of the week: there’s a lot to see at Sandalphon, and all of it’s quite lovely. 🙂

Tell Nigel What You REALLY think!
